Happy Saturday! Just thought I’d hop on to share this watercolour rose painting that I did a few weeks ago.
It was the first creative thing I have been able to do since the Hyperemesis started and it was such a nice and gentle way to feel creative again. My husband worked hard on our garden over the summer and with the help of one of his lovely friends, he’s created a little rose garden at the front of our house. Although I didn’t have the chance to see it in full bloom, he got me a picture and I sat and painted one of the beautiful roses. They are white with a hint of peachy pink and just so pretty.
I wanted to give my art piece a moody feel, and so I painted the background in dark shades of green and black. I really like how this makes the rose standout and I love how it looks in this black Ikea frame. You can see the whole process (sped up!) in a video here.
If you fancy a copy of this art piece yourself, head over to my Etsy store where I have it available as a digital download in sizes 5x7, 8x10, 12x12 and 14x10.
That’s all from me this week but I have some autumn posts coming your way soon, and then from November I have some festive posts that I did way back at the start of the year - feeling very glad I was so organised this year!
